Rosewood Essential Oil

 

Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) is a species of Magnoloid in the Lauraceaa family. It is considered to be an endangered species in the  South American tropical rainforest. The rosewood tree is a large evergreen tree. It is capable of growing up to 90 feet (30 meters) and over 6 feet (2 meters) in diameter. The entire tree is aromatic and the scent can be appreciated from quite a distance. Rosewood essential oil has been used in traditional medicine and in aromatherapy for many reasons. Rosewood essential oil itself is considered by many to be a mild pain reliever and has been used to reduce pain due to headaches and migraines and muscular and joint pains. Like other oils, the scent of this oil may help to alleviate depression. 


It is perfectly safe oil. It should be diluted before use.

 

 

 


 

Using Rosewood Essential Oil


Health


  •  For Acne Application of this essential oil on the face, on a regular basis helps reduce onset of blackheads, pimples, and acne. It controls the amount of sebum secreted by the oil glands, and prevents problems arising due to them.
     
  • Antiseptic Rosewood's antiseptic properties make it a suitable treatment for wounds like cuts, insect bites, etc. Dabbing some of this oil onto the wound will help protect the cut from contracting infections, and will also help it heal faster. 

  • Alleviates Cough, Cold, and Sinusitis This oil helps treat common cold, sinusitis, cough, etc., which is why it is used in vapor therapy. Adding a few drops of this oil into one's bath water can also help relieve headaches, sinus-problems, fevers, etc. It also helps alleviate muscle pain.

  • Relieve Headache Rosewood can be blended with Lavender to relieve a headache. Put both oils into a carrier oil (grapeseed oil, coconut, olive oil, jojoba oil) and rub on the back of your neck and on your throat as soon as the headache begins.

  • Aphrodisiac Properties Its aphrodisiac properties help treat impotence or frigidity issues. Moreover, it also arouses sexual desire and improves sexual performance.

    Combing 4 drops of this oil with equal amounts of frankincense oil, and adding it to 4 tablespoons of carrier oil such as jojoba or grapeseed or almond oil or olive, will give you your own skin care oil. Pour it into a bottle and seal the bottle well. Apply this oil on your face and body on a regular basis. 

  • Anti-aging Properties Its cell stimulation and tissue-regeneration properties make it a suitable oil to treat wrinkled, aging, and mature skin. Mix the oil into the cream and apply it daily for maximum benefits. You can also blend this oil with some carrier oils like jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, etc., and apply it on the thighs and other areas affected by stretch marks. Mix 5 to 10 drops of Rosewood Essential Oil, with 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil, and 5 drops of Orange in a cup of milk then add to warm water for a mood enhancing bath.
