Using Rosemary Essential Oil

Culturally it was believed that rosemary enhances memory, accelerates thoughts and clears the mind. This property was confirmed by various studies. People report feeling focused and calm after diffusing rosemary oil. Rosemary oil is best used during time when we need to focus and come up with solution to a problem.



Diffused In Air

Rosemary has fairly delicate aroma, add 10 to 15 drops of essential oil in to diffuser. Soon your room with be filled with refreshing scent that will bring focus and clarity to your mind. Rosemary blends extremely well with aroma of lavender. Combine two oils to reach new levels of self-awareness in meditation.

 

 

Massage

  • Arthritis: For arthritis, back pain, muscular pain, rheumatism, or a stiff neck, use 2-3 drops in 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage on area.
  • Pain Relief: The ability of rosemary essential oil to relieve pain has resulted in its extensive usage in headaches, muscle pains, sore muscles, rheumatism and even arthritis. Combine 1 part oil in 3 parts carrier oil to massage on area where pain is felt.

 

Health

  • Ashma: For asthma and respiratory infections, use 2-8 drops in a steam inhalation. Can also use 5-15 drops in a diffuser or 8-10 drops in bath water.
  • Headaches and migraines: especially those related to gastric upset, use 2-3 drops in a hot or cold compress. Can also use 2-3 drops in a diffuser or 8-10 drops in bath water.
  • Mental Focus: It is quite stimulating and is good for memory retention and staying focused and alert. It is a good choice for driving long sessions or studying for extended periods of time.
  • Pain Relief: The ability of rosemary essential oil to relieve pain has resulted in its extensive usage in headaches, muscle pains, sore muscles, rheumatism and even arthritis.



Cosmetic

  • Skin Care: Rosemary oil is known for its ability to increase blood flow to the skin, and increase oxygen levels. This process rejuvenates the skin, kills bacteria and most importantly promotes new cell growth. Dilute oil with a carrier oil of about 1 part or oregano oil to 3 parts carrier oil. Best carrier oil to be used would be organic Jojoba.
  • Dandruff: For dandruff and greasy hair, add 2-3 drops of oil to unscented conditioner. Leave on 3-5 minutes, then rinse.
  • Hair Loss: Combine 4 drops of lavender and 4 drops of rosemary in 4 cups of water, add 3 table spoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix it up, shake it up and use it as a hair rinse. Rosemary oil will increase blood flow to scalp and rejuvenate your hair, combat dandruff and promote new healthy hair growth.
